Prokne, la fille du roi d’Athènes Pandion, se prépare à tuer son jeune fils, Itys. Avec cet acte, elle vise à se venger de son mari Tereus, roi de Thrace, qui a déshonoré sa sœur Philomela. Sculpté et dédicacé par le grand sculpteur Alkamenes, élève de Phidias.
