The project presents images/pictures to volunteers and asks them to name the main item in the image (such as “banana”) and to assign a categorical label (such as “food”). The images with the quality labels will be used for research on finding out how our brains decide so quickly how to respond to an image. The researchers also hope to use the data for training computer models to replicate human performance in tasks such as this.
